Rate Schedules & Information
New water and sewer rates are as follows:
|Per 1,000 Gallons||Current Rate|
In October of 2011, the Village implemented a five-year rate increase program to cover the necessary operating cost and the costs associated with much-needed infrastructure maintenance and improvements.
Meter Reading & Billing
Water meters are read and billed bimonthly. A deposit is required of all customers, which is applied toward the final bill when they move out of the Village. Any amount left over is refunded.
- Owners: The deposit for service is $40 plus a $10 service charge.
- Renters: The deposit for service is $100 plus a $10 service charge.
- Water Rates: The water rate is $4.43 per 1,000 gallons.
- Sewer Rates: The sewer rate is $4.60 per 1,000 gallons.
This brings the total for water and sewer charges to $9.03 per 1,000 gallons.
Senior / Disabled Discount
Residents over 65 receiving Social Security retirement benefits or any resident on full Social Security or Veterans Disability will be charged a flat quarterly rate of $4.70 for the first 4,000 gallons of water, but will be charged the normal sewer use rate.
Water usage above 4,000 gallons will be charged at the regular rate. The Senior/Disabled discount allows up to 4,000 gallons of water for $8.25 per bill. Sewer services for Seniors/Disabled are billed according to the rate chart.
In addition to the listed user charges, customers also pay a quarterly availability charge of $4.88 for water and $4.88 for sewer. The structure of availability charges is also changing. Currently, the availability charge is the same for all users. Beginning August 1, 2012, availability charges will be based upon a customer's meter size and capacity requirements of the system.
Consequently, unmetered private fire suppression water systems are subject to availability fees, too. The new structure is outlined in the table:
|Water & Sewer Availability Charges||Bi-Monthly (Current)|
|less than or equal to 3/4-inch meter||$10.68|
Tank Painting & Repair Project
The Tank painting and repair project has been completed. The removal of the fee will be reflected beginning October 2012. Thank you for your support to better the community.
