Route 25 Corridor and Tax Increment Financing District
Route 25 is the primary business corridor of Carpentersville's east side. This area includes the Meadowdale Shopping Plaza and an assortment of retailers and restaurants. In 2012, the Village approved the Route 25 Tax Increment Financing District as a means of utilizing public resources to stimulate additional private investment in the area. This tax increment financing district is designed to assist large scale commercial redevelopment and related public infrastructure improvements in this 156 - acre area. The average daily traffic count on Route 25 at Besinger Drive is 28,000 vehicles per day.
Spring Hill Mall/Route 31 and Huntley Road Commercial Corridor
Shared with the Village of West Dundee, Spring Hill Mall has served as a regional commercial anchor for almost thirty years. Major commercial retailers within the Village of Carpentersville include Home Depot, Carson Pirie Scott and Kohl's. The center is linked to rapidly growing western Kane County by Huntley Road. The daily traffic count of Route 31 in this area is approximately 27,000 vehicles per day while Huntley Road is 18,000 vehicles per day.
Randall Road Corridor
The high volume traffic of Randall Road (average daily count: 39,000 vehicles per day) serves businesses well in this commercial stronghold. Noteworthy Carpentersville retailers in this area include Woodman's Food Market and Menard's. Bisecting Randall Road from the west is Huntley Road, which has an average daily traffic count of 14,000 vehicles at the Randall Road intersection.
A skilled and diverse area workforce supports healthy manufacturing areas within Carpentersville. The Otto Engineering campus straddles the Fox River at the Main Street Bridge and represents a creative architectural restoration and adaptation to provide a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. Other prominent manufacturing employers within the Village include Revcor, Bulk Lift International, Hexion Specialty Chemicals, Grayhill and Stanley Machining and Tool Corp.
The Village has actively supported industrial development, including the initiation of a Tax Increment Financing District which supported Spring Hill Center; a new commerce and industry park.
The Village also assists with industrial development bond applications and workforce development.
