The process of reading a resident's water meter is completely automated. Water Division personnel read the meters electronically through radio waves. The Village currently serves approximately 10,000 residents.
To establish water service the owner of the property must provide proof of ownership in the form of a settlement statement or deed. The owner must also fill out our water application and provide a form of picture identification. Water can be turned on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays between 7:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Effective June 1st, 2015, the Village Finance Department will be open for extended hours (5 p.m. to 7 p.m.) only on the 2nd and 3rd Thursdays to accept utility, parking tickets, and other payments.
The Village of Carpentersville provides water and sanitary sewer service. Water is provided from a number of wells in the area.
Should you experience a sewer back up, contact the Village Hall at 847-426-3439. After 5 p.m. and on weekends, call 911.
If the Public Works Department finds that the main lines are clear, you will be advised to call a plumber. Please note that you are responsible for maintenance of the sewer lines from the house to the Village’s main sewer line.
