Part-Time Records Clerk
The Village of Carpentersville is accepting applications for a part-time Records Clerk for the Police Department. This position performs a wide variety of technical and clerical law enforcement support duties related to collecting, recording, transcribing, maintaining, processing, editing, retrieving and distributing technical and confidential law enforcement data and information.
Work requires thorough knowledge of office practices and procedures, ability to operate a variety of office equipment, excellent customer service skills, and the willingness to receive, handle and complete confidential submissions, records, reports, and data with utmost honesty, integrity and confidentiality. The successful candidate must be a well-organized self-starter and team player. The successful candidate must also obtain a Law Enforcement Agency Data System Operator Certification by the end of the probationary period (one year after start of employment).
The successful candidate must hold a High School Diploma or G.E.D. and be able to pass an extensive background check. A minimum of one year of data entry, customer service or office experience is preferred. Experience with police record systems is highly desirable. English/Spanish fluency is preferred, but not required.
The position requires up to 28-hour per week and includes participation in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund.
