Local Election

The Village of Carpentersville elects its officials in independent, at-large elections that are held in April of odd numbered years. Primaries and general elections, for national or state offices, are held separately.  The next election for the Village of Carpentersville will be in April 2021.  For anyone planning to run in the April 6, 2021 Consolidated Election, nomination petitions may be circulated starting September 22, 2020. Petitions must be filed with the Village Clerk from December 14-21, 2020. Click here to view the Petition Filing Notice for more information.

The following positions on the ballot in 2021 will be:

  • Village President (1 Opening)
  • Village Trustee, 4-year term (3 Openings)

Voter Registration

Do you want to register to vote? Come to the Finance Window at Village Hall. 

In order to register, residents must be: 

  •  18 years or older
  •  A United States citizen
  •  Have lived in the Village for at least 30 days.  

Applicants must provide two forms of identification

  •  A photo ID 
  • ID with your current address. 

Naturalized citizens registering to vote must provide the name of the court, city and state, and date of naturalization.

Reminder - If you have moved or changed your name, you must re-register to be eligible to vote.

You may also download an application from the Kane County Clerk’s website and mail the completed form to the County Clerk’s office.
