Lead Service Line Replacement Information

In 2022, the Village of Carpentersville began assessing water service lines in Old Town, where there are known installations of lead water service lines.  The Phase A construction to replace known lead water service lines began in the Fall of 2023 with additional phases to follow in the near future.  However, with the determination and support from residents, the Village completed the replacement of all known water lead service lines in December of 2024 and entered 2025 as a lead-free water service line community!

The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) requires that all community's with water supply submit a water service line material inventory and a lead water service line replacement plan.  On April 15, 2024, the Village of Carpentersville submitted the inventory and replacement plan which can be found at the links above.  An updated inventory with displaying no known water lead service lines was submitted on March 14, 2025 and can also be viewed at the links above.
