New water and sewer rates are as follows:
Per 1,000 Gallons | Current Rate |
---|---|
Water | $5.71 |
Sewer | $5.47 |
In October of 2011, the Village implemented a five-year rate increase program to cover the necessary operating cost and the costs associated with much-needed infrastructure maintenance and improvements.
Water meters are read and billed bimonthly.
This brings the total for water and sewer charges to $11.18 per 1,000 gallons.
Water usage above 4,000 gallons will be charged at the regular rate. The Senior/Disabled discount allows up to 4,000 gallons of water for $8.25 per bill. Sewer services for Seniors/Disabled are billed according to the rate chart.
In addition to the listed user charges, customers also pay a bi-monthly availability charge of $5.34 for water and $5.34 for sewer. The structure of availability charges is also changing. Currently, the availability charge is the same for all users. Beginning August 1, 2012, availability charges will be based upon a customer's meter size and capacity requirements of the system.
Consequently, unmetered private fire suppression water systems are subject to availability fees, too. The new structure is outlined in the table:
Water & Sewer Availability Charges | Bi-Monthly (Current) |
---|---|
less than or equal to 3/4-inch meter | $10.68 |
1-inch meter | $15.26 |
1.5-inch meter | $30.48 |
2-inch meter | $48.76 |
3-inch meter | $94.00 |
4-inch meter | $152.00 |
6-inch meter | $308.00 |
