Planning a Special Event in Carpentersville?

The Village of Carpentersville welcomes community events that bring people together while ensuring safety, accessibility, and coordination with Village services.

Below you’ll find helpful information about special event requirements, application types, and additional permits that may be needed to host a successful event.

Special Event Application Types
Special events are classified based on where they are held and how they impact Village operations.

Class A Special Event:

Events held on Village-owned property such as parks, streets, or public facilities.

Common examples:

  • Events in Village parks or public spaces

  • Street closures or use of public right-of-way

  • Events requiring Village staffing or equipment

Class B  Special Event:

Events held on private property that may impact public safety, traffic, or Village services.

Common examples:

  • Large gatherings on private property

  • Events requiring police presence, traffic control, or fire inspections

  • Events that affect neighboring streets or businesses

Regulations & Guidelines:

All special events must follow Village regulations to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.
