Village President
On behalf of the Village of Carpentersville, welcome! As your Village President, I would love the opportunity to tell you about our community and its amenities. Carpentersville is the third largest village in Kane County. We border McHenry County to the north and Cook County to the east. Additionally, we have easy access to the I-90 corridor. We also offer many great services to our residents and businesses. It’s a wonderful place to raise a family and we are very proud of our community.
Carpentersville has a rich history, beginning in the 1800s with the development of the Illinois Iron and Bolt Company and Star Manufacturing Company, both located along the Fox River. Illinois Iron and Bolt, an iron foundry and blacksmith shop, later acquired Star Manufacturing, which produced agricultural machinery. In 1979, Star Manufacturing was purchased by Otto Engineering. Today, Otto Engineering is the hub of our community. Overall, industry in Carpentersville is thriving, and many great companies are proud to call Carpentersville home.
We are proud of our residential, commercial, and industrial areas. The residential areas offer housing for people with various needs and desires. The commercial and industrial areas offer us a strong tax base, with many job opportunities for our residents and excellent corporate partnerships. We are also very proud of the recreational areas provided within the village. The village has many parks throughout the community, with Carpenter Park being our main park where numerous activities are hosted throughout the year. Additionally, we have bike parks and trails located on both the east side and west side of the community.
Carpentersville is a contemporary community with old fashion values. I encourage you to learn more about the Village of Carpentersville, visit the area, and call us your hometown.
